Name change in Voter ID Card

To change your name on your Voter ID card, visit the Voter Service Portal and fill out Form 8. Enter the state, constituency, and your new and old names carefully. Upload supporting documents confirming the correct name, such as the name change notice, Aadhaar card, and other identification documents, and submit the form. Upon submission, you will receive a reference ID, which will help you track the status of your application. After verification, your name will be changed on your Voter ID card.

Update Voter ID Card After Marriage

To update one’s name or address on a Voter ID card, one must utilize the Voter Services Portal and complete Form 8. Ensure the name and address are accurately entered. Supporting documents, such as a gazette notification for a name change and a marriage certificate for marriage, must be submitted. The updated Voter ID card will be issued shortly after the form’s submission.
